Hello, My name is Zoha A. I am 12 years old and a first-generation Pakistani-American and I live in Westwood, Massachusetts. Inspired by the current events, I wrote this Call to Action to express my feelings about systemic injustice in our society.

The Plea for Justice

The world is changing

but we are not.

1800’s to 2020

but we are not.

Black kids watching the news thinking,

“Are we going to die”

I am brown, am I going to die?

Terrified, frustrated, ashamed

Why are we feeling this way?

From equality, why are we so far away?

We are trapped in a bubble fighting our way out,

yet we are continuously knocked down.

It’s time to get up off the sidelines and play the game.

Together, we need to break the barrier by

standing with the colored

and becoming one.

This is why Gen Z needs to step up

And build a society where each and every person feels safe.

This is humanity’s fight

And we need to find the light.

Take a knee.

Raise your voice.

Hold the fist.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
