Help Pass the Frederick Douglass Act and Protect Lives at Home and Abroad

On July 22, 2025, the House Foreign Affairs Committee unanimously voted to advance H.R. 1144, officially named the Frederick Douglass Trafficking Victims Prevention and Protection Reauthorization Act of 2025. This legislation renews and enhances the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 (TVPA), which has played a key role in securing more than 2,225 convictions of traffickers who exploited men, women, and children through force, fraud, or coercion.
