– Frederick Douglass
(Masthead of The North Star)
Published in Rochester, NY, by Frederick Douglass, The North Star was the most influential antislavery newspaper of the 19th century. Circulated throughout the United States, Europe, and the West Indies, it denounced slavery and fought for the rights of women and other oppressed groups as well.
Today, our efforts—and those of many modern abolitionists working to end human trafficking and exploitation—extend across digital platforms and communities around the world. The Douglass Mind Blog provides a space for thoughtful dialogue and the exchange of ideas inspired by Frederick Douglass’s enduring legacy. Here, we will also keep you informed about our initiatives, press releases, and updates related to human trafficking prevention and the advancement of shared opportunity.
